Undergraduate Cost of Attendance (COA)
The tuition, fees, housing, and food components of the estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) represent an estimated amount of charges that will be present on a student’s billing statement. These components are direct costs. There may be differences between your actual charges and these estimates based on fees specific to certain colleges or majors as well as individual choices of residence hall, meal plan, and fees required for certain courses.
The books and supplies, transportation, and personal components of the estimated Cost of Attendance are variable, out-of-pocket expenses that are not included on the student’s billing statement. These components are indirect costs. These amounts will vary by student.
Loan fees are the average amount of loan fees incurred by all students for Federal Direct Loan funds during the previous academic year. These fees are only included in the Cost of Attendance for those students that borrow Federal Direct Loan Funds.

Under certain circumstances, students whose awards reach their COA limit may appeal for additional aid eligibility. Prior to submitting an appeal, students should review the COA figures available to determine if an appeal is necessary.
